Heavier in the center

"I bought this staff for my son because we are traveling by plane for a competition and thought it would be better to have a collapsible staff. For the particular form he is doing, the staff feels a little off balance due to the screw mechanism in the center making it heavy, but the hollow-feel at the ends making the ends light. I think if he was to use it for a different styled form it would have worked for him. But for the particular form he is doing, it's going to be a challenge getting used to the off-balance feeling. We'll still keep it for the future though!"

Perfect length, weight, and appearance.

"I bought and love the blue/black collapsible graphite staff. It has a great look and feel with enough weight to utilize for forms/movements, but not heavy like my traditional wood bo. The collapsibility is a primary reason I chose this over others-- mainly for ease of travel and when carrying to/from my car and buildings. The only problem is that the company shipped the bo in its assembled state instead of collapsed. The package was a bit damaged but fortunately the bo was unharmed. But I could easily see this causing problems. It would be much safer to ship in its short collapsed state."
