It began as a dream
In the 1970s, martial arts was taking hold in America—but quality gear was hard to find.
Competitive martial artist Mike Dillard saw the gap firsthand. Driven by necessity, he began cutting and sewing uniforms in his garage, selling them from the back of his van at tournaments.
With limited resources but unwavering belief, Century was born in 1976. That same mindset still defines us today.
Why we exist
50 years of relentless progress
Over the last five decades, Century has grown from a single uniform into the world’s largest martial arts equipment company — without ever losing sight of why we exist.
We exist to inspire people to experience the life-changing benefits of martial arts by equipping the instructors, schools, and athletes who bring training to life every day.
From pioneering the original Wavemaster and the iconic BOB to advancing modern training systems used worldwide, our history is defined by innovation born from real training needs.
Progress isn’t accidental. It’s earned — rep by rep, decade by decade.
A company of martial artists
Century is not defined by the products we make — but by the people we serve.
We are martial artists building equipment for martial artists. Our products are shaped by real training, real testing, and real feedback — guided by a commitment to innovation, authenticity, and craftsmanship.
Proudly based in the heartland and serving the world, we remain rooted in the traditions and values that make martial arts transformative.
The community we serve
The true heroes of our story are the instructors and school owners who believe in their students before those students believe in themselves.
From traditional martial arts to fitness, sport, MMA, combatives, and grappling, we support every discipline that helps people grow stronger — physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Our role is simple: serve those who change lives through martial arts.
