"I saw the other one-star review and thought "it cannot be that poor quality if Century sells it." I was wrong. My instructor has three other, older oak katana from Century of wonderful quality. But the blade itself is thin, the scabbard was cut off-center so it will not endure much use without cracking, and the magnet holding it in the scabbard does not work well. This poor quality item seems like it cost less than $5 to mass-produce, and it is not worth the $56 + shipping Century charges."

"I am very disappointed with this bokken. It is glued together at the tsuba instead of being cut from a single piece of wood, the scabbard is so thin in places that a single bump will crack it, and the bokken fits so loosely that walking will jostle it out of the scabbard. If you're serious about kobudo, stay away from Century weapons an find your weapons from a Japanese craftsman. I'd recommend SeidoShop.com."
