Overall the wood is strong and good if you wanna use to train

"Good quality only problems I have is that if your gonna really train with this your hands are gonna turn black from the paint on handles and tsuba and hand hard and kinda janky don’t really work well. Overall though after I sanded the handles it fun to use"

You get what you pay for

"The good: You'll be hard pressed to find a wooden bokken for a better price. The bad: It's inexpensive because the materials are mediocre at best. The ugly: • After a single training session, the black varnish rubbed off onto a brand new gi and only mostly came out after five or six washings. • The blade isn't exactly straight • After sanding off the varnish I realized there was a large knot/burl towards the business end of the bokken. I don't mind the cosmetics, but if/when it breaks, that's where it will happen. Cheap, gi-destroying black varnish covers this up. TL;DR I should have saved myself the headache/hassle/time/gi and paid a bit more for a better bokken elsewhere."

Fix maybe

"When I got my product it was good yes but the tip end was a uneven. All in all the product is good and to me that balance seemed heavier on the center of the blade so it is a little off. Would imply to buy for practice only."

Well Built

"Ordered two for a display, not used in any training setting. These are well built with no imperfections. These have made for great gifts."
