"I started training in the early 90's, and my instructor had these as a standard piece of training equipment. I have had my own school for 15 years, and these continue to be used quite regularly. They are built tough! And we put in thousands of aggressive teen and adult power kicks into them... plus some kids :). The only issue I ever had was on some older ones where a plastic sheeting came out of a grommet once in a while. That could be pushed back in with a nail. Otherwise, we never had anything tear or threads come out. These kicking shields are versatile, too, such as for jumping over for different drills. Personally, these are what I believe to be one of the most useful pieces of martial arts training equipment out there for any style that uses striking, whether feet, hands, knees, or elbows. We get years upon years out of these, and I still can sell them used to students after all that."
