Good conditioning pad, but requires DIY work to mount safely
"The canvas pad and foam on this makiwara feel durable and offer great feedback for knuckle conditioning. The dragon design looks sharp, and the build quality of the pad itself is solid for the price. However, the mounting design is completely impractical for modern walls. The pre-drilled holes are not spaced 16 inches apart on center, meaning you cannot mount this directly into two standard wall studs. Since a wall unit like this has zero natural flex, trying to screw it straight into bare drywall will quickly destroy your sheetrock. If you are renting a standard commercial strip-mall dojo space with drywall, or hanging this in your home/garage, be prepared to do some extra DIY work. I had to mount a wider piece of 3/4-inch plywood across my studs first, and then attach this board to the plywood to make it safe to punch. It is a good training tool, but Century really needs to update the frame dimensions to match standard 16-inch stud spacing so users don't have to build custom backer boards just to use it."
